WORLD
PREMIERE OF INNOVATIVE ART REPRODUCTION
AT
DESERT CABALLEROS WESTERN MUSEUM
(Wickenburg, AZ: January
11, 2002) When
LookClickPrint, Inc. makes its debut on February 2nd
at Wickenburg's Desert Caballeros Western Museum, art
lovers around the world will have cause for celebration. Thanks
to the giant strides made in digital printing coupled
with innovative software, patrons of the museum can now
enjoy incredibly realistic reproductions for a nominal
price.
Say
a museum patron wants a reproduction of "The Cowboy's
Dream"?, the focal point of the museum's retrospective "The
Mythic Life and Art of Lon Megargee" exhibit. They
simply step into the LookClickPrint kiosk, and press
the computer screen to bring up the database. Look
for "The Cowboy's Dream" image. Click on it.
Then they choose from six sizes, ranging from 11" x
14" to 30" x 40". Specify paper
or canvas. Charge the cost, from $80 to $800, to
a credit card. The purchasing information is sent via
a private network to the appropriate printing facility.
The artwork is reproduced according to the specifications
described above. Voila! Three to four weeks later, "The
Cowboy's Dream" arrives at the doorstep.
Should
a museum patron decide that they want a copy of "The
Cowboy's Dream" after seeing the Megargee show,
the LookClickPrint system offers other ways of ordering. By
bringing up the museum website or the LookClickPrint
website and following the same procedure, the made-to-order
print will be on its way.
"The
way this system captures brushstrokes and other texture
is absolutely amazing; it looks like Megargee's brush
has just left the canvas of 'The Cowboy's Dream' " says
Michael Ettema, Director of the Desert Caballeros Western
Museum. "We're very proud to be the first showcase
for this remarkable system." The LookClickPrint
kiosk will remain on site for three years, allowing patrons
to add superlative, custom-made reproductions drawn from
the museum to their art collections.
